One spray of the made in Germany formation and I am still catching whiffs of it in the air over 10 hours later. You can safely overspray on your body and clothes,i do like 10+ sprays everytime i use it and it shines. What amazes me is that this fragrances came out in 1994, yet it's so decidedly modern to me, or at least it's so decidedly not DATED. However, if you're looking for an easy-to-wear fragrance, this is definitely one of the better "dumb reach" fragrances you can wear. I'll leave a full review of this 2023 version to those who know substantially more about fragrances than myself as my fragrance nose is still quite naive.
It smells like 1970's expensive soaps(the kind I was never allowed to touch while on display in my mother's bathroom). We both have changed a little bit over the years but underneath all of that, we are both still the same. A classic and timeless scent for the modern, elegant man with the style and iconic power of an italian gentleman. You get citruses and florals in the opening, but as it dries down, it essentially smells like a slightly more powdery laundry detergent. The heart consists of lavender, sage and pepper and the base includes tobacco, cedar and tonka accords.
It has quite a confectionery aspect sort of like a pastry or dough, and thinking about it and smelling it, it must be a lot of lavender giving the effect. There’s a very subtle sweetness after the initial green citrusy opening, probably from the florals and I enjoyed this the most. The notes consist primarily of citrus, fresh flora and forest, which help to create this fantastic, stimulating and dynamic fragrance experience. On my skin it becomes quickly a skin scent, that has totally disappeared after 4 hours max (unless I douse myself in it).
Well, with the current version I am getting -7-8 hours longevity with 1-2 hour fantastic sillage depending on the climate.
